Gus's Story...

Gus is a beautiful 13 year old brindle smooth coat tweenie Dachshund. He is a real cuddlebug and as you can see he is a professional beggar as well. He is crate trained and housebroken most of the time. He isn't so happy about this Ohio  weather and has had a few accidents lately. He gets along with other dogs, but has been known to steal their food if not monitered closely. He has a tendency to gain weight and must stay on a strict diet. Gus has no problem with cats, either. He can be snippy with children so needs to be in a home without them. He does fine in his crate when his fosters grand daughter comes to visit, and he seems to prefer the crate when there is company visiting. Gus is being fostered in Ohio, but transport can be arranged. If you are interested in adopting Gus please fill out an application at sophiasgracefoundation.org

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Gus, a Coatesville Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in Coatesville, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in Coatesville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Coatesville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Coatesville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Coatesville paves the way for another one to be saved.
