My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Spaniel/Cavalier King Charles Mix
10 years old
Neutered male
Adoption fee: $50
Included in the adoption fee are rabies & distemper vaccinations, heartworm testing, deworming, spay or neuter surgery, and a free initial exam by one of many generous veterinary clinics who have donated their service.

This stately gentleman was brought to the shelter because his owners were no longer able to afford his care. Snooper is a happy and friendly older boy who loves life despite some chronic medical problems. The family who brings this sweet dog into their family and home will undoubtedly be touched deeply by his warm heart. There are extra expenses to consider with Snooper, however, as he does have several medical issues. Upon his initial veterinary exam when he arrived at FVHA it was discovered that he had a small cataract in his right eye, but it doesn't seem to effect his vision. He has had some dental cleaning and extractions while here, and has been treated for an yeast ear infection which can be common for his breed and may require chronic maintenance. Snooper also came to the shelter with a chronic cough that was unresponsive to steroid treatment and xrays indicate that he may have chronic bronchitis that could require lifelong maintenance. These are things to seriously discuss with your veterinarian before deciding to adopt Snooper. If you have the means and the room in your heart and home to help Snooper have the wonderful life he deserves, please stop out for a visit today!
