My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

RAMBO: 6 year neutered black male AKC 100 lbs

Rambo came to Lab Rescue from his owner in Fresno. He could no longer keep his dogs as they were not getting the attention they deserved. He is getting divorced and his wife was the main care giver for the boys. Since the two boys were litter mates they would fight with each other. (A few of the fights caused a little damage to the brothers, they would always fight over who was the leader of the pack.) Since the owner was gone for over 12 hours a day and since he was getting divorced he knew it was not fair to keep them. He took them to the Fresno shelter and the shelter called Fresno Lab rescue and they asked the owner to take them back. Fresno Lab Rescue was full so they reached out to GGLRR to see if we had room. Fresno Lab rescue tested the dogs and they passed all the tests and were soon loaded up and headed to the Bay Area.

GGLRR has Rambo at our boarding facility and he is a very nice boy. (We are splitting up the two brothers even though they do love each other they also will fight with each other and have caused some damage. You can see the picture attached on Rambo’s chest from Rex biting him.) He gets along with all the other dogs and has been around several dogs and does love his brother but when you take home litter mates, especially the same sex it is a gamble if they will fight for dominance. (They do not fight with other dogs just each other and it is random.) They have been around kids of all ages and they love them! We would suggest that Rambo is placed around kids that are older due to his size. He loves to swim, go for car rides, loves to play with a tennis ball and really did enjoy going on his walks. (Rambo will need a refresher on walking on a leash as since the separation he has not been walked much.) Rambo has been well cared for and came from a breeder in the central valley. He is a real love of a dog and would make a great companion.

Rambo has no health issues: Has all his shots, is neutered, is heartworm negative, is microchipped. We had his chest shaved to take a look at his bite wounds and this will all heal. The vet said these were bit wounds from a little while ago. He is currently on antibiotics and his fur will grow back.) Rambo needs to lose a few pounds, he is well on his way with less food and more exercise.

Rambo will be going to a professional trainer on Monday who will foster him and also give him more obedience. Rambo is located in Geyersville.

If you have the time for this nice boy and want him to be a part of your family, please contact Liz at 415-613-6374 or email liz@jobshopsf.com.

(Please keep in mind we are all volunteers, most of us work full time and we all have personal lives. I do call everyone back within 2-3 days so please be patient and I will be back in touch with you. When the dogs are in foster homes then it may take longer as we need to touch base with the fosters for updates on the dogs. We work very hard to make the right matches for the dogs and for the new owners. We get 3-5 dogs per week and we do not have a facility that we keep the dogs housed in. They are scattered all over the Bay Area.)
