Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Our boy is oh…Ka…yo! He makes you sing! Our boy is oh…Kayo and he is super
sweet! Kayo found his way to us while in the middle of no man’s land. Kayo has a wonderful and loving disposition, high energy, but yet easy going. He is approx. 2-3 years old and right at 81 pounds or slightly higher. He recently tested positive for heart worms, so that maybe why he took the path that led him to us. Heart worms is not a death sentence unless it goes untreated. As a rescue, we ensure every dog that comes into our program with the condition receives treatment. Kayo is very active and a fun loving people’s dog. He does enjoy playing with other dogs and gets along great with all shapes and sizes, but I don’t think it really matters to him. We don’t know how he would test with cats but cannot imagine Kayo hurting anyone and think he would more than likely ignore them. He has a quiet sweetness that is so infectious. Kayo is very strong and does tend to pull when walking him, but it's easily corrected with the right harness. He does however like to jump to get at eye level with you, and for a big dog he can jump pretty high when he's excited. For this reason only, small children are not the best fit as he would knock them over, but he has been much to my surprise most recently extremely careful around them although wants to lay on their lap. Kayo would thrive in an environment where he has a big fenced in yard to run around in, plenty of exercise, love and attention. He thinks he is a lap dog and will get right on top of you on a couch, so if you don't want a touchy feel kind of dog kayo is not for you. He loves to be affectionate! He does need an active family that is willing to continue his path to greatness by spending lots of time with this boy! Kayo has already learned a few cues, but definitely needs additional training. If you are willing to give Kayo what he needs he will definitely be an amazing addition.
