My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

It always touches our hearts at Farfel's when we see the young puppies that are already in desperate situations. Such was the case when June's adorable face popped up on our computer screen as "URGENT!" How could it possibly be that this gorgeous Alaskan Malamute/German Shepherd baby was about to be euthanized? We sprang into action and were successful in rescuing the litter of 3 puppies and their momma. June is a beautiful puppy who fortunately is too young to be affected by her time at the shelter. Since June is only 15 weeks old, she's a little girl weighing in at 15lbs. She's starting off with a naturally loving and curious temperament...if treated with love and respect while having clear boundaries, June will develop into a well-balanced and super-devoted companion. The reality of adopting a puppy is that they're a blank slate...they will develop into the adult dogs we teach them to be. If we housebreak and begin general training with a serious sense of commitment....yet with an understanding that our pup ends up as loving as they are treated...we will end up with a well-balanced and devoted companion. We strongly suggest Puppy Socialization classes (offered by most trainers) to introduce June to other pups and to begin her understanding of what appropriate behavior is toward other dogs. It also teaches the beginning skills of sitting, lying down and recall. We are open to placing June in a home with older children or with a retired couple (or individual). We would love a family that has the time and motivation to guide a puppy...and snuggle her as well. This requires lots of togetherness and clear messages as to what's expected. We also feel strongly that an active puppy like June needs to be kept stimulated with frequent walks, playtime and socialization with as many humans and other pups as possible. It is through this positive interaction that June will develop into a dog that is trustworthy around other dogs as well as children. She would enjoy riding shotgun in the car to develop a love of traveling as well as guidelines as to what appropriate car behavior is. As June gets older she will enjoy long hikes, camping and maybe even ski jorring! June is a shedding girl and will therefore require daily brushing to keep your home relatively hair free. Farfel's will take responsibility for payment for June's spaying and microchip as soon as she's old enough for the procedures.

June is survivor! Her and her siblings came down with this deadly virus 3 weeks ago and made their way through!

FOSTER UPDATE: June is real sweetheart. She loves nothing more than to cuddle and get her belly rubbed. She is always eage to play but has a very calm and relaxed demeanor the rest of the time. She loves to explore and sniff everything. June recently discovered snow and she loves it! She is very satisfied after a nice long walk and loves to nap. She is great around children and enjoys meeting new people. She is on her way to being totally housetrained.

June is being fostered in Boulder and is available for meet n greets.
Applications are currently being accepted for this beautiful, cuddly companion.
