A beautiful, medium haired brown tabby with striking black accent stripes, Claudette is a natural in front of the camera. Claudette is very sweet but somewhat skittish. She has come a long way from the hissing ball of kitten fur that was afraid of her own shadow, but still needs a little extra TLC. Although she does not like to be held, she likes to be near you and will creep closer and closer hoping you do not notice. She loves to be stroked down her back and will even let you touch her fluffy tail. Claudette, although shy with humans, does well with other cats.
Claudette enjoys windows , her track ball scratcher pad (catnip is a bonus) and canned food. If she wants attention, she lets out tiny meows that sound a lot like Henrietta from Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood: short, clipped and distinctive (Note: Claudette does her own vocals—no dubbing or human voice over required).
Claudette needs to be adopted with her brother Cary.
To adopt you must first complete an adoption application and either come to an adoption event or arrange to meet the cat in its foster home. We do not do same day adoptions so, generally, we can only adopt within the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area.
