My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

RAVEN is a 22 month old spayed black female lab who weighs 49 pounds. She is a love, she would rather be with you and get attention than anything else she can think of. When she meets you she comes over and sits then leans against you.. She will go see why you threw a ball but doesn't pick it up. She was fascinated by the snow kept trying to figure out why she couldn't walk on top of it and her feet keep disappearing. She would love a family that will play with her and give her attention. Love and exercise . Good with other dogs. Knows some commands sit and come. Will have a training addendum Pulls a bit on lead at first, better with an Easy Walk Harness. Reported as house and crate trained her room clean at the kennel. Raven was an owner turn in as family just had their fifth child and didn't have the time to give her the exercise or care she deserved, Raven has lived with children ages 7 to 15 years so she is approved for kids 7+.

Update (3/25): Raven has blossomed!!!!! This little girls personality emerges more and more every day. She is playful but not high energy. She loves to chew on a nylabone or Elk antler. Tennis balls are great and she will bring it back if tossed (sometimes) but prefers to just prance with it in her mouth. Loud noises such as Vacuums, hairdryers do not both her. She has become very relaxed and rolls over for belly rubs. We are working on commands and she knows a few. Today foster mom is working from home and she is lounging on a dog bed snoring ever so softly by her side. Raven is approved for children 7 and up and would love a fenced in yard to prance in. Please contact your adoption coordinator to find our more.

Update (3/22(: Raven is such a wonderful girl. Yesterday she took a lot of naps, whatever window the sun was beaming through is where she could be found. She is enjoying being able to roam the house and has picked her favorite dog bed. Since she has been such a good girl that last night we took her favorite bed to our room and let her sleep uncrated. Foster dad was awakened by some light butterfly kisses on his face about 6:00 am. She has not gotten in bed with us unless she is invited. Yesterday we took a nice long walk. We used an easy walk harness and did not have any problems. We encountered a few people and she just kept walking. Passing cars did not seem to phase her whats so ever. Even the few dogs who have E-fences in their front yards were out. Since we know which homes have them we simply cross the street when approaching, she showed interest, but did not pull. Raven would enjoy having a fenced yard where she can romp and play.

Update (3/21): Raven is settling into her foster home nicely. She enjoyed romping in the Spring snow with the resident labs. She would play a game of chase, then stop, drop and roll herself in the snow. While she enjoys playing she is not high energy at all. She is a very gentle girl, and loves being by your side. Raven is house trained and will go to the door to let you know she needs to go out. She is crate trained and slept in her crate all night without a peep. After breakfast she snuggled and gave kisses in bed with her foster parents. She takes treats gently and had no problem when we sat and petted her while she ate.

Update (3/08): Raven is doing great. A family came to visit her yesterday and she was wonderful with the kids. We knew that two of them were nervous around dogs and she sensed that and was very gentle around them. She won one of them over by going over and sitting by her then laying down and rolling over for a belly rub. She was sitting and laying down on their commands. Is good with other dogs out in the yard. Would love a home with some kids to play with out in a yard.
