My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Cassie is a very sweet, rather petite 13-inch beagle. At 4-years-old she has the charm of a puppy and the bathroom habits of a seasoned adult. Cassie, along with her pup, made her way to HBHR from the Galveston County Animal Shelter. Cassie came to us heartworm positive, skittish and scared. Today, Cassie is heartworm negative and she's shedding her fearful ways. In fact, Cassie has become a little demanding, adorably so, of course. She howls her pipsqueak howl if her foster parents are running late with dinner or a walk.

Cassie lives with two other beagles and gets along well with them but is not particularly playful--she more or less provides good company. Cassie does well in the crate, though you do need to pick her up and place her in it. She took a little while to catch on to the doggie door and become fully house trained, but she's got the hang of it now. Cassie would do equally well in a house or an apartment so long as she gets some fresh air and some exercise. Cassie is still a little skittish, particularly around men, but she has improved greatly. This compact comical dog has won the hearts of her foster parents. Has she won yours?
