My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

A bit about Angel’s Heart Dog Rescue: We tend to go for the underdog in many cases. We try to give a chance to some of those that are left behind and we truly hope that when you read these bios, you read with an open heart and an open mind to embrace what we feel is the true meaning of rescue. We hope that in the same spirit that we gave a common dog a chance at life that you may also consider giving a chance at a forever home. Thank you.

Please read entire bio before contacting rescue. Courtesy listing! Please contact Janet Cook of the Angel’s Heart Dog Rescue at: adopt@angelsheartdogrescue.com and not the rescue connected to this page! The preferred method of contact is by way of e-mail.

Oren is a sweet and loving toy-sized Chihuahua who weighs 6 lbs. He likes to cuddle with you, lie on a pet bed in the same room that you are working in, or even sleep in the human bed with you. He gets on a roll where he lavishes you with kisses, but will eventually stop. He is a well-behaved and easy-going companion dog who gets along with other dogs, male, female, large, small, and frequently shares pet beds with the other dogs in the rescue. Oren wears a hoodie to keep him warm in cooler weather. He enjoys chewing on little rawhides at bedtime, and though he does not play interactively with other dogs, he occasionally enjoys various toys. He rides well in the car and can easily go places with you due to his small size. One of his favorite things is to lie on a pet bed in the sun out on the porch.

Oren is not a digger or a barker. He is very quiet unless it is time for a walk with his doggie friend Peanut, and then Oren barks and barks from excitement because Peanut is barking, monkey see, monkey do. Oren is potty trained. He has not had a single accident in the house, (however, I facilitate regular “take outs” for potty outside). He will wait and hold it until I go outside. He is VERY GOOD in his little wire crate, and sleeps quietly throughout the night. He can easily sleep in the human bed, as long as you don’t roll onto him, LOL. Oren is a dog who will attach to his special person or couple. The home I seek for Oren is a somewhat quiet home with a single person or couple.

NOTE: Oren has some environmental allergies, common to many dogs, and needs ongoing allergy medication that the rescuer can discuss with a potential adopter. Due to the aforementioned, we are significantly lowering his adoption fee, since he will need monthly meds. We are looking for a kind and compassionate person who will not hold this little issue against Oren. He has been posted for months and months, and nothing has yet panned out for poor little Oren in terms of a forever home!

Oren is vetted, neutered, vaccinated, including rabies, de-wormed, heart worm tested (negative) and also micro-chipped. Though his shelter paperwork says he is age 5, our rescue vet says he is closer to 3 (shelters often get dog’s ages wrong). If you are interested in Oren, please contact Angels Heart Dog Rescue at adopt@angelsheartdogrescue.com. The phone number to the rescue is: 626-340-9316. There is no need to phone the rescue until you have first submitted an interest via e-mail. Please visit my website at: http://www.angelsheartdogrescue.com and go to the Adoption Tab to read about the adoption process; thank you!
