Abby's Story...
Abby is a super cute brown tabby girl with a white chin and chest and a little pink nose. Her big green eyes look up at you full of joy and contentment. Abby came to 4Paws after being dumped in a shelter in Maryland. She’s a very affectionate kitty who loves to be held, snuggled, and get plenty of petting and chin scratches. She will purr nonstop and head butt your face while you hold her. Abby can be quite playful and enjoys chasing after her toys, batting them around. She’s also a big talker, she likes to let you know how happy she is to be around you!

Abby has lived with other cats and dogs in her previous home, so we believe she would get along well with cats and dogs in her new home with proper introduction. Abby has already gotten her microchip, which can be updated with her family’s information so that if she ever were to accidently escape and lose her collar, a shelter or vet would be able to find her family and make sure she is safely returned to her home! Come and meet Abby and let her show you what a wonderful little kitty she is!

Abby was born in March 2013. She has been spayed, tested negative for FIV and feline leukemia and is up to date on all her shots.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Abby, a Merrifield Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Merrifield, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Merrifield.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Merrifield already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Merrifield breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Merrifield paves the way for another one to be saved.
