HUTCH-DAWGS's Story...
Meet Hutch, a 55lb, 2yr. old Black Lab boy. He is friendly and good with other dogs and cats. Hutch is learning how to play and is gaining his confidence. He was recently chosen for the DAWGS in Prison program, http://www.dawgsinprison.com . All of the dogs selected for this program go through an intense 8-week training session and live with their trainers, handlers and caretakers in a dormitory style work camp. All of these dogs have had an extensive temperament test and get along well with other dogs and people. They are available for adoption now and will go home with you after graduation on January 7. The dogs are all crate trained, house trained, and basic obedience trained. They can be expected to sit, stay, recall, down, heel, and respond to no and leave it. The dogs are also well trained on a leash. Of course, they are up to date on all vaccines as well as spayed/neutered. Applications for this dog are available online at www.dawgsinprison.com .

Why Adoption is a Great Option

HUTCH-DAWGS, a Port St. Joe Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Port St. Joe, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Port St. Joe.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Port St. Joe already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Port St. Joe breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Port St. Joe paves the way for another one to be saved.
