My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Andy is an adorable & loving 16lb little ball of fun! She is 5-6 year old Dachshund/Jack Russell Terrier mix looking for her forever home. Andy is very playful and will amaze you with her ability to walk on her hind legs. Her favorite toy is a tug of war rope meant for a 60lb dog, not a munchkin like her. Andy settles down very easily and will curl up next to you on the couch or on your lap. She is both crate and housetrained, and will wait by the door or get you attention when she needs to be let out.

Andy has come a long way in her foster home after only two months. She was initially weary of meeting new people, but now she can't get enough attention from everyone. She's mastered sit and will readily go into her crate. She's very responsive to commands and will generally come when called and stay in her 'place' next to the couch when told. She has warmed up to all the children in her neighborhood and we think she'd be great in a home with dog savvy children.

Andy has proven to be great with other dogs and we think she'd love a playmate. Andy is very curious of cats but backs off easily and could possibly do okay with them.

The adoption fee is $350.

Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.

We expect that all adopted dogs will enroll in a formal dog training class with their new owners. Obedience and training classes are an excellent way to learn more about your newly adopted dog, gain handling and training experience, and improve your relationship with your pet.
