Thank You to Kirsten Ulrich for Sponsoring Georgie
Georgie is a very smart pup who is going to make someone a really great companion as long as they are willing to put the work into helping her meet her potential. She is just a young dog that is eager to learn, very loving and loyal to her people. She is fine with children and other dogs but would not do well with cats as she will chase them. She is a pretty girl, approximately a year old and currently weighs 17 lbs.

Here is what her foster family had to say:

Georgie is a very loving girl who loves to cuddle and be near you. She has a moderate energy level. She loves to cuddle and sleep either near you or in a comfy dog bed but would also love to go for long walks or even runs. She has very short hair with minimal shedding and would require next to no grooming but will need a coat in the winter to keep warm on walks.

Georgie loves everyone she meets and will get right up in your face an kiss you climbing all over you in the process so she might be a little much for a very small child (2 and under). She is not sure of herself at all and although I wouldn’t call her shy she will need time to build her confidence. She sticks right by you on walks and will get under your feet if she hears a startling noise. But she is slowly letting her guard down and coming out of her shell and I know with time, patience and love she will be a very outgoing dog once she gains some confidence. She is okay with other dogs but is a little dominant (not hard to do with mine). She chases the cats when they run. I think she has a very strong prey drive so I wouldn’t suggest she go to a home with small animals.

Georgie's favourite thing is to cuddle on the couch with you. She doesn’t need to be in your lap but is usually touching you in some way, even if it’s just her head on your foot. She is not afraid of anything but is a generally cautious dog. She is very quiet in the home. She knows "sit" but nothing else. She is food motivated and smart so I’m sure it won’t take her long to learn. Obedience classes would be a great place for her to gain confidence and bond with her new family.

Georgie is house trained and should be fine in her new home as long as they get her on a regular schedule. We are currently using a crate for her at night and when we are away from the home and she is very good and quiet in the crate. She is also pretty good on leash. She is nervous on walks so actually gets a little too close to you while walking rather than the regular problem of pulling.

Georgie is just a young girl that needs someone to take her under their wing and help her become a confident girl. She is food motivated and eager to please making her easy to train. Obedience classes would be a great choice for her and a home with children over 8 that would enjoy playing with her.

If you think Georgie would be a good choice for your situation, please submit an application for consideration.
