My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

BUDDY #3 is a 10 year old neutered yellow male Lab who weighs 78 pounds. Buddy is like a fine wine, aged to perfection! Buddy knows basic commands such as sit, lay, move, come and speak. Buddy is friendly with other dogs. When getting attention Buddy has a great lab lean and is happy to receive affection! Buddy does pull on leash so an Easy Walk harness will help with his leash walking skills. Buddy has previously lived with children. Buddy is house and crate trained but no longer needs the crate. He is approved for kids 8+.

Update (7/10): Buddy is an amazing boy. He's gentle and sweet and loving with everyone. He continues to do his exercises and building muscle mass in his back leg. He's a strong boy. His skin looks so much better, and he loves to go for his walks. Buddy is a perfect gentleman waiting for a loving family to welcome him into their world. He loves my kid. He loves my dogs. He loves my cats. He wants to eat my chickens. This mellow boy is a gem. Call me if you'd like to meet him.

Update (6/11): Buddy continues to do well with his walks and stretching exercises. He's friendly with everyone. He lets you know when someone is at the door, but he would even let the robbers in! Have I mentioned that he sleeps straight through the night? Buddy is an amazing pup and possibly the easiest foster I've ever had. There's got to be someone out there ready to fall in love.

Update (6/10): In anticipation of the heat, Buddy and the resident dogs went for a longer walk early this morning. We discovered that he's too interested in the chickens, so not approved for chickens. This boy is amazing. I love that he sleeps through the night. He turns in around 10 and I don't hear a peep until about 6 am. Buddy is wonderful and has a great disposition. Anyone looking for perfection?

Update (6/9): Buddy #3 continues to be a great house guest. I've noticed that when I leave the house, he'll bark for a few minutes and then he'll settle. When I peek through the window, he's always laying next to the resident Lab, so he might enjoy the company of another mellow dog. He's a champ at taking his meds and looks forward to the peanut butter-meds sandwiches that are served here twice a day. Buddy is great on the leash, and he loves to go for short walks, which is all he's allowed to do right now. He is housetrained and doesn't need to be crated. In fact, I have put the crate away. He also lets you know if someone is at the door and wags his tail when the visitors come in. This boy is so nice. He also enjoys waiting for the school bus. If anyone is looking for a perfect and easy yellow Lab, give me a call.

Update (6/6): Buddy's in the house. He settled down fairly well considering how long he's been at the kennel. We're continuing to work on his rehab. He's 4 weeks out from the surgery and doing very well. He's pretty good for his stretching exercises and must walk with an Easy Walk harness because he can pull. Buddy did excellent meeting the two resident dogs. The biggest challenge will be for him to understand that he can't play with other dogs yet. He also did very well meeting the cats, even the meanest cat in the house came nose to nose and Buddy just wagged his tail. Very nice with the resident 9 year old human. Melted in husband's lap while getting a belly scratch. This boy is desperate for love and attention. Oh, and he has the best table manners. Sat on one side of the table while we ate dinner and didn't even move. He likes cooked carrots, too!

Update (6/5): Buddy is a very distinguished 10-year old guy who is very laid back & easy going. He's recovering from ACL surgery & doing very well. Buddy wanted to share his wish list with his potential new family. I love to be near my people but you won't be falling over me, I would prefer a family that isn't gone for a long workday. I'm looking for a wonderful family to live out my golden years with who will spoil me me belly rubs, ear scratches, good food, TREATS, yogurt, peanut butter, Scrambled eggs, I do not care for cheese & did I mention TREATS, I love treats. I'm house trained, I don't need to be crated cause I'm such a good boy. I know commands such as sit, stay, paw & speak ( foster mom makes me do this when asking for a treat). I walk nicely on the leash. I sleep through the night in foster moms room in my nice comfy dog bed. While we are watching tv, I will happily join you at the end of couch or as long as my dog bed is close to you for belly rubs, I can lay there.

Update (4/3): Buddy continues to flourish in his foster home! He was so happy today that foster mom got to telecommute today, he loves his people! He is sweet, silly and full of personality! He does have one vice, he snores! Come meet Buddy today!

Update (3/16): Buddy is very handsome, distinguished 10-year old guy who is very laid back & easy going. From Buddy: I love to be near my people but you won't be falling over me. I'm house trained, I know commands such as sit, stay, paw & speak ( foster mom makes me do this when asking for a treat), I also do this little Elvis lip thing that makes foster mom laugh so much. Foster Mom loves the fact that as soon as we come inside, I know to sit so she can wipe my paws. I sleep through the night in foster moms room in my nice comfy dog bed.
The things I am looking for in my forever family are:
1) a soft place to lay my head like a nice dog bed
2) belly rubs
3) good meals & treats
4) I would like three 20-minute walks a day, but am completely happy with two
