My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Suki is at Duncan Pets, located at 350 Trans-Canada Hwy, Duncan, BC V9L 3R4. Their phone number is (250) 746-4833. Suki's adoption fee is $200.

Suki is a black, spayed female with long, wispy fur. She is four years old and has a beautiful silver ‘mane’ or ruff. Suki is super affectionate. She likes to be held on a shoulder, supported underneath her legs, while she purrs and purrs. She likes to lie on a table and be petted while she rolls from side to side so she can have her back and sides stroked. Suki enjoys a lap for awhile but prefers to sit on the top of the couch so she can be petted while her lady reads.

Suki has had very unfair treatment in her short life. She was a tame cat that was abandoned outside where she had to struggle to find food. She was in very bad condition when she was rescued. When she was first fostered, she was treated for fleas and she had her shots. She had an ear infection which was treated with drops, and it cleared up. This was a result of a food allergy. Several different types of dry food were tried and a high quality, reasonably priced food was found that suits Suki’s needs. The brand that works for Suki is Fromm's Surf and Turf. ‏It is likely that Suki has an allergy to grains. If she isn’t fed a food that suits her needs, she will develop the ear infections and scratch constantly to relieve the itchiness. This results in open sores and scabs. It is important that her new ‘owner’ appreciates this allergy and is willing to accommodate this health issue. She enjoys a spoonful of soft cat food that is hypoallergenic but that is not required for her diet.

Suki delights in playing with pingpong balls, corks and fluffy pompoms. She sits and waits for one to be tossed, and she can bat it back quicker that it can be caught or returned. She likes to lie and wait for a toss so she can chase the toy. She will jump at it like a kitten and then settle in for another toss.

Suki has been a delight to foster. Any new person to the cat room, was greeted with full purrs and stretching so they could pet her. It is unknown how she will do with other cats or a dog so she might benefit from being an only cat. She’ll be a wonderful companion.
