My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Apply here at: http://welcomehomedogrescue.org/adoption/application-to-adopt-a-companion/

Romeo weighs 8 pounds and is an adorable young male Yorkie or Silky Terrier (they look very similar). He is very loving and sweet. His coat is silky soft and he does NOT SHED! He will need regular grooming as his hair will grow quite long; however, the coat can be kept in a “puppy cut” for ease of maintenance. Romeo is friendly, neutered, crate trained and potty trained. He recently had his teeth cleaned and a few teeth were extracted. Romeo has been given a clean bill of health by our veterinarian after giving him a thorough examination. Romeo is currently fostered in Los Angeles.

Romeo was rescued from South Korea with his brother Gus. Their mom dumped her dogs when she found out she was pregnant! They were saved from euthanasia by angels at a wonderful rescue in Korea, but they have been unable to find a forever home. Mixed breed dogs have a terrible time getting adopted in Korea, so lucky Romeo was sent to the USA find his forever home.

Romeo would be perfect for a person who enjoys spending time with their dog. He loves to sit on laps and to be held, but he also loves strutting his stuff on a walk! He looks so proud as he walks! Romeo would be comfortable in either an apartment or house, with a retired or working person, a single or couple, or family with grade school children or older. He enjoys the company of other animals, but he would also be suitable for a single dog household.

Romeo's non-refundable adoption fee is $300. All dogs are fully vetted, tested for heartworm, microchipped, and up to date with vaccinations. The application is the first step before we can schedule a meet and greet.

Our adoption process looks like this:

1. Adoption application review by WHDR board
2. Adoption application approval
3. Meet and greet
4. Home safety check
5. Final approval and adoption finalized

Our volunteers, donors and adopters mean the world to us! Without you, we couldn't do what we do - saving the lives of abused, neglected and abandoned dogs and providing them with a loving forever home.
