COOKIE's Story...
Cookie is a very sweet little girl who stays quiet in her cage. This 7 month old, 37 pound Pointer mix is smaller than she appears in the pictures and will sit, stay, and lay down. Cookie was at the shelter before (she came in as a stray on March 2nd) and briefly adopted. Her new family returned her when they saw she was getting the sniffles. A brief trip to the vet and some meds would have cleared up this little inconvenience. Cookie is feeling much better now and looking for a family that will love and provide her the proper care that every pet deserves. Cookie is up to date with shots, spayed, and micro-chipped. She is in Run 302 and her ID is 572863.

When calling the shelter about a cat or dog, please use THE ID NUMBER, the names are oftentimes made up by volunteers.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

COOKIE, a Marietta Pointer/Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pointer/Labrador Retriever for sale in Marietta, or seeking a Pointer/Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Marietta.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Marietta already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Marietta breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pointer/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Pointer/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Marietta paves the way for another one to be saved.
