I was rescued from a Northern Quebec reservation some 9 hours NorthEast of Montreal, see there are no vets up there and so there are no options for spay or neuter programs; most of the stray dogs just roam and roam out on the streets all year long breeding over and over again so it does not take very long for the population to get out of control and a dog cull is scheduled. Thankfully there are some very kind volunteers who are trying to make a difference and one of those volunteers made my rescue off the streets possible finding rescue placement with a CAA Rescue foster family.
And while I grew up on the streets and spent most of time just trying to stay alive, avoiding the mean people who would take great pleasure in catching and hurting me or just plain old trying to find food and keep warm – every day was a struggle for me.
I am looking for a family that I can love forever and they can love me back; I promise I am a very loyal family man
I am extremely intelligent and love to do anything you are doing, I learn fast. I am very eager to please my humans and make them happy; it is all I truly live for now
I am a sensitive man and so will not respond well to dominance or harsh style training methods. I am the most ZEN dog you will ever meet … I am very calm and gentle
I want to be a part of a family, with them doing everything they are doing, as one of them. Any activities you have planned should always include me. I am not well suited for people who work long hours or must travel often, leaving me at home all alone. I just won’t be happy
Due to my possible breed types I just don’t think I would be suited well for apartment life; my two breed mixes are working dogs so I need a family out of the city who have space to play and be with me daily
I will require very little work on leash training so if walking slowly and calmly is your thing then we definitely have one thing in common
I am low to medium activity level so if you are looking for a partner to jog with you then that probably is not me … I am more of a stroll casually and stop to smell the roses kind of guy.
If you are looking for those non shedding dogs; then I am probably not your man. I will blow my coat twice a year and a lot can be done like daily grooming to prevent your home from becoming one big furry mess with furry tumble weeds floating around but it is something you should consider now
I was never tested with cats or children but my calm nature tells me that I really probably won’t have issues with children 12 years old and up
I have not been left alone for an extended period of time in foster care but when I have been left alone I had no separation issues
I am dog and people friendly
