Nova's Story...

Nova is one of those rare rescues where she is primarily good to go right out of the box; like that toy on Christmas morning that doesn't need batteries to work. She is housetrained, agility trained, obedience trained, kennel trained, and is past the puppy years at the vital and active age of 5 years-old. Nova is great with kids, cats, other dogs, and LOVES affection. But unlike a toy on Christmas, Nova is an intelligent and active personality and needs to be led by someone who is attentive and respects her mind. As a shepherd mix, she responds very well to commands and authority and needs it to be consistent so she can feel focused and gratified. She is also still young and still active so she thrives on activity and stimulation. Though she is independent, she loves having a handler and thus would make a terrific companion for an active individual or family. Nova is a rare find; a beautiful and healthy intelligent dog who is eager to learn and loves life and has a balanced and well adjusted personality. She would make a great companion for a conscientious dog lover or a loving family

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Nova, a Calgary German Shepherd Dog/Border Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog/Border Collie for sale in Calgary, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog/Border Collie dog from a breeder in Calgary.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Calgary already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Calgary breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog/Border Collie breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog/Border Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Calgary paves the way for another one to be saved.
