My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Updated Bio 4/1/15 Boo Bear is the sweetest, most loving 7 year old pup. Boo weighs 9 pounds. He is being fostered in Leesburg, FL.

Hello, my name is Boo Bear and I thought it was time you heard it directly from me. That’s because I can use my mouth now. My surgeon told me just yesterday I can now go back to my regular activity. I am not totally healed, but really close.

I don’t know what I did to end up on the street alone and hurt. I only know someone hurt me real bad. They hit me in my jaw hard and then they didn’t want me anymore. It didn’t make sense because I am really a good boy. I just want to love everyone and give kisses. Maybe it was because they didn’t take care of the fleas that were biting me and making my skin itch all the time. When I was picked up by the animal control I heard the word flea dermatitis when they saw my skin. By the time animal control found me wandering the streets I was so skinny because it hurt so much to eat. That is when the nice doctor who was taking care of me saw that my jaw was broken a lot.

It was the best day ever when the angel from United Yorkie Rescue came and got me from the shelter and took me to another wonderful doctor who fixed up my mouth. Finally the pain was gone and hooray the fleas too. That’s because the nice people at the shelter helped me with that and put some medicine on me to kill them.

I am now in my foster home and they really love me. I get to sleep on the bed and eat a lot of good food, since I am a little skinny, and I even have a nice foster sister to play with. I mostly potty outside and I am a great car rider. My foster mom told me I will be getting groomed soon, whatever that means, but she said I will be very beautiful. Well, even boys want to be beautiful. And my hair is growing back in from those nasty fleas. Best of all I know what it feels like to be safe and loved and cared for.

BUT LISTEN TO THIS… my surgery was expensive and United Yorkie Rescue has been trying really hard to get all the money to pay for it. We still need a little more. I hope you think I am worth it and will help my rescue angels pay for the surgery that saved my life. Without it I would have slowly starved to death because I couldn’t eat or chew. Please help and donate so my surgery can be all paid for. Even one dollar will help, and my foster mom and me will send you back a nice thank you letter.

And Hey, don’t forget I am ready to go to my forever home pretty soon. If you think you would like to have the best boy in the world who will love you forever, fill out an adoption application just for me.

Thanks for helping me to get well and for reading my story.

Love and Puppy Kisses, Boo Bear

Updated Bio 3/25/15 Boo Bear is the sweetest 9 pound, 7 year old boy. He is being fostered in Leesburg, FL

Boo Bear has settled very comfortably into his foster home. He will have to remain in there for about two months while he heals from his major surgery. What a trooper he is about that, too. He have become very devoted to his foster mom and dad and just wants to be with them and loved.

He knows he can't run and play yet, so just being with his foster mom and dad has made him so happy. It is sad to see him wanting to join in the fun and that will happen, but for now we can only hold and cuddle him and give him all the love he never had and so badly wants.

Boo sleeps all night. He likes to go out and be walked, though he must be leashed at all times and kept restrained and quiet. He is a good eater, gets along with the other dogs in the home, and seems to not bother the cats, but we are not quite sure of that yet. Boo is not yet fully house trained and his foster mom and dad are working very hard on that. He is getting it. He's not there yet, but soon.

Without Boo's surgery he would have never made it. He could barely eat and was in great pain. He also was full of fleas, and even through he couldn't eat they were eating him.

Boo's surgery was very expensive and UYR is desperately working to raise money to pay for it. We are halfway there, and we need your help to meet our goal of $1,500. Please every dollar will help us to pay for Boo Bear's life saving surgery. Help us help him.

Although he will need to be in his foster home for another month or two we are taking applications. This is one loving, sweet dog, and anyone who is lucky enough to get to adopt him will be getting a companion and devoted buddy for life.

Boo Bear is about 7 years old. He is 9 pounds of sweetness, being fostered in Leesburg, FL

Initial bio 3-18-15 Boo Bear found himself in a high kill shelter sad, alone, and in pain from a severely broken jaw. He was rescued by United Yorkie Rescue just today and immediately taken to the surgeon for an evaluation. Our rescue angel said he was so sweet and loving in the car ride to the surgeon. What a trooper, in so much pain and still giving love and kisses.
The surgeon said his jaw was broken in two places and had been like that for at least 2 or 3 weeks. Imagine the pain he was in and the suffering he endured and no one to help him until today. The surgical vet did the best he could to repair the breaks, but it was too old to repair, so he removed the loose bone, took out a tooth, and neutered Boo.
Boo Bear will stay at the vet's until Friday when he will picked up and taken to his new foster home. There he will continue to heal with the utmost love and care. Boo Bear will also need some medication to help with his skin condition, most likely caused by fleas and neglect.
Boo Bear's surgery was very expensive. It is estimated to be about $2000 and United Yorkie Rescue is reaching out to you to help us pay for it. It is only through your generosity we can help dogs like Boo live a long and healthy life. Boo deserved this second chance. Please help us pay for his surgery so we continue to help Boo Bear and others like him who continue to need us.
Boo's bio will be updated as soon as his foster parents speak to the surgeon and know more about his healing process and his ongoing care. Once he gets to his foster home and settles in and his foster parents get to know him, there will be more about sweet Boo Bear coming.
