My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

DOB March 4, 2006.

Hi! I'm Jazzy Girl but my foster mom calls me Kooky Kitty. I'm a confident well-adjusted girl who knows the ropes. Just show me where to unpack and I am good to go. Litter box - check. Water and food bowl - check and check. Bed - double check. Couch - I'm on it ;) Have you seen my comb?

Jazzy Girl likes to go bird watching on Youtube after breakfast. Her favorite video to date is 'Party At The Snow Hole' - Blue Jays and Red Squirrels. She would probably be just as happy jumping up to a window sill to go bird watching for real, but she can't do the jump part just now. She is a murrr monster. She has an opinion on everything IF you ask her; she'll tell you. She's not sure about laps. She thinks she wants to sit on your lap and will ask you to you pick her up so she can show you, but then just as everyone gets settled, she will remember Oops! I forgot! Laps really aren’t her thing, that is until they are. She's conflicted... and needs someone to help her figure it out. In the meantime, a basket by you is great, or a corner of the bed at night is purr-fect. She has just re-discovered her love of string; she’s beside herself excited when it slips under the covers and hides. She’s smart too! She knows that you have an alarm button--located right in the middle your chest--and that you would never forgive yourself if you were late for her breakfast.

Jazzy used to spend her days on her dad's bed. He had a whole box of toys for them to play with. Her Dad was a senior so they got to spend all day together just playing and napping, which was great. One day her dad looked a bit down so Jazzy went over to get a tummy rub because tummy rubs always make everyone happy. But instead of rubbing her tummy and counting her polka dots, he gathered her up, hugged her close and told her about the nursing home.

Jazzy is a bit overweight so she can't jump on stuff, which can be good but she will try anyway and not make it--not so good. A few file boxes to help her get to where she wants to go is all she needs until she is lean and mean again. And you will help her get that way with frequent short burst, high intensity string play sessions to get her to feel the burn. Her inactivity and dry food has in the past caused constipation. But upping the play time and feeding wet food is all that's needed as a preventative strategy.

She is a beautiful happy love-filled kitty with a flair for kooky. She obviously was adored and her dad put a lot of time into bringing her up right and it shows--she is a kind, confident well-mannered girl who is fun to hang out with and is OK with alone time too. She's not overly vocal unless you feel like chatting. I don't think a loud busy environment with young kids would suit her. She is really tuned into noise and perks up to listen, which in an overly loud environment might stress her. Not sure how she would take to a dog; my guess no. A family with "tween"agers sounds good, or a couple, but a one-on-one companion I think is what she does best with, but she maybe more adaptable then I am giving her credit for. Jazzy is middle-aged which is great! There is a lot to be said for a mature cat, with crazy teenage years behind and moving into a calm that comes with maturity. She is in the prime of being a cat and you get her at her best no training required.

Thank you for welcoming a senior cat into your family - an adoption fee of your choice is appreciated versus our standard adoption fee of $175.
