My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Vortex is just an absolutely adorable pup who will turn into a very handsome dog. He is extremely smart and very easy to train. He is energetic, silly and playful. Most importantly however is that he is extremely affectionate! He loves to give away kisses to anyone willing to receive them and he loves to be pet by anyone willing to pet him. He instantly goes up to every person he meets and will show them immediate love and affection. He is definitely deserving of a forever family who will show him that same kind of love and affection back. Vortex is approximately 8 - 9 months old and currently weighs 39 lbs.

Here is what else Vortex's family had to say:

Vortex is one of the sweetest dogs I have ever met. His gorgeous eyes, floppy ears and big smile will melt your heart as soon as you meet him. He is extremely affectionate and loves to be where the action is. He loves to be pet and seems to be under the impression that he is a lap dog. One of the best things about Vortex is that it doesn't matter how long I have been gone (a couple minutes or a couple hours) I always get greeted by him doing a happy dance, which consists of him wagging his whole body (head to tail) all in different directions! He is loving, charming, smart, playful, curious and so many more things but probably the best word to describe him is goofy. He chews treats with his butt in the air, he walks around the perimeter of our bed on his hind legs if someone is sitting on it, if I read a book he will try to turn the pages with his nose and he switches between a bark and a howl! This little cutie definitely has his own very unique and endearing personality.

Vortex is a very healthy looking pup. He is most definitely still a puppy. He is full of energy and very curious about everything around him. It is obvious from the size of his paws that he still has some growing left to do. Best of all he still has super soft pup fur! Vortex has a moderate energy level. He loves to play and run around but is also extremely content to lay in our laps and be pet or play with a toy on the floor. We have noticed a moderate amount of shedding with Vortex.

Vortex is extremely friendly! He loves to meet new people and will go right up to them to be pet. We don't have children so I cannot say for sure how he would be around them. Vortex has never acted aggressively towards anyone. He loves all people and has never showed any shyness (other than at bath time!). He loves to play with other dogs! He was a little shy when he first met my dog but within a few minutes they were best of friends. He doesn't seem to be much of one for running so he prefers wrestling and rough housing. He is however a toy thief, which goes over fine with my dog but would need to be watched with a dog who is more possessive.

Vortex has not shown any fears of anything in particular. He loves to be given lots and lots of attention! He is at his happiest when he is laying in someone's lap being pet. His other favourite activities include being fed treats and destroying his toys! He does occasionally bark in the home. We have noticed it quite a bit when he is in his crate and are working on crate training him. We have also occasionally noticed barking when our neighbour's dogs are outside barking and Vortex can hear them.

Vortex has shown excellent manners in the house. He for the most part will follow the boundaries as to which rooms he is allowed in (occasionally he will try to sneak upstairs to seek out our cat). He will occasionally put his paws on the counter or attempt to stick his nose in the garbage but a after being told a firm no he will back right off. He is an extremely smart pup! He did not know any commands when he first came to us but has very quickly picked up sit and down. He can even occasionally do a sit without a treat present! We are also working on leave it and off. Vortex is fully house trained. We are working on crate training Vortex. He is usually in it for about 4 hours at a time and will generally bark for a while once he is put it. We are working on getting him more accustomed to it in order to decrease his barking. Vortex walks pretty well on a leash. He will pull a bit and sometimes wanders around the sidewalk or onto the road, usually because he is following a scent. With a little more training he will do quite well on a leash. At first Vortex was a little unsure about the car but once he discovered he could stick his head out of the window he was content!

Vortex would do best in a home where he can be active. He loves to go for walks and play outside. Also Vortex would do great in a home where he will get lots of play time with toys and with people. He would do great in a home that has other pets as he loves to play. Most importantly Vortex would do best in a home where he is loved unconditionally because this little guy is just so deserving of it.

If you would like to add this sweet pup to your family, please submit an application for consideration.
