Ruger's Story...
*We currently have six applications for Ruger. You can still submit an application for him, but you will be at the end of the line.*

Ruger is a 6 month old male yellow Lab puppy. He is a very sweet, adorable boy. Ruger is shy and unsure in new places. His previous owner didn't have enough time for him, so he was not socialized much. Ruger will need a patient owner that is dedicated to giving him the socialization and training he needs. He seems to get along well with other dogs, and he should be trainable with cats. He would do best with a fenced-in yard or a lot of property. Ruger will be a wonderful companion.

*Ruger's adoption fee is $200. All HSSCM dogs have been spayed/neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, and they are on monthly heartworm/flea prevention.*

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ruger, a Battle Creek Labrador Retriever puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Battle Creek, or seeking a Labrador Retriever puppy from a breeder in Battle Creek.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Battle Creek already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Battle Creek breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Battle Creek paves the way for another one to be saved.
