My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

The Jack Russell/Doxy mix is a perfect combo for those with who are searching for an extremely smart and loyal family dog. Of utmost importance...they're famous for their great temperaments and extremely loving and snuggly ways. They're also known to be trustworthy and very gentle with family members and other family pets...and since they (like all dogs) require a certain amount of exercise and absolutely love being with their people...if a walk is the order of the day - count them in! These mixes are known to trot joyfully through the Colorado mountains...and then crash on the couch snuggling close to their favorite humans and canines.
Addi is an absolutely adorable and engaging girl who favors the non-shedding coat and intellect of the Jack Russell while taking on the very engaging qualities and size of the Doxie. Since Addi won't shed her coat, she'll require periodic grooming and great nutrition to keep her stunning white and chocolate-colored hair healthy and matt-free..

Addi's Texas foster mom sent us the following report on sweet Addi:
Addi has to be the the most endearing dog ever! She greets me in the morning with the cutest sit up/beg pose and holds it quite some time, although I've never asked her to. She's very politely asking for breakfast. I also have to brag about how great she is in her crate! Addi is completely crate trained and doesn't make a peep during the night. (full disclosure, she's great with open wire kennel, a bit hesitant when I put her in a closed travel crate although that could just be because it smells like my cat, Sophie). ;o)
Addi is a wirehaired Jack Russell Terrier/Miniature Dachshund mix, also known as Jackshund (in other words, she's a stunning designer dog, teehee)!
Addi weighs 11.9 lbs. and has a calm, gentle nature and always sweet personality. She gets along famously with my senior 80 lb. Smooth Coat Collie and young, energetic 14 lb. Miniature Poodle and is very polite with my cats. In other words she's perfect and I'd never let her go if my husband didn't put his foot down at 5 pets!
Addi is the greatest companion I've ever fostered! She perks up when she sees me get her leash as she loves to go for short walks. She engages with everyone and behaves herself like a champion.

Addi is completely housetrained...truly perfect! She will potty outdoors on or off leash and would never consider being disrespectful of her home environment!
What can I say...Addi is a dream-dog..no kidding! She is a perfect companion, loves to be in your lap but never-ever needy. She will steal your heart (and the hearts of your family) instantly. I only ask that she be loved completely. No dog ever deserved it more!

Our rescue assessment of sweet Addi is that her kind nature is just waiting to be enjoyed and appreciated...she makes close playmates everywhere she goes. Addi is very outgoing and social and that means everyone she meets ultimately becomes a friend. You know when a loved one approaches, Addi's tail starts the greeting and it wiggles up through her entire body ending into a smile. And if your lap is available, up Addi goes to cuddle and snuggle and let you know the level of her devotion. Addi is such a wonderful being...we think she represents the best qualities of the Terriers/Doxies. At about 9 - 12 months old and just about 10 - 12 lbs, she seems to have completely left behind the neglect and lack of love that made up her early life. Addi has become a fuzzy ball of good-will that loves to please - the happier her family is with her behavior, the more she shines with her accomplishments. We would like to see Addi in a home that includes her in family time and activities...she's very social and would thrive in a family that truly loves her and considers her a very important family member. Addi would be a wonderful companion for active retirees who have the time and desire to be best friends with a truly adorable young pup or a family with gentle dog-loving kids. Addi doesn't require another dog to be happy...but does enjoy her canine relationships with kind and gentle dogs.

Addi will arrive on transport in Boulder on 4/3/15. If interested in this sweet and very loyal companion, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com.
