Biscuit (HF)'s Story...
Biscuit is a cute little 2 year old red dachshund. He was owned by an elderly couple. Daddy had to go into a nursing home and mama wasn't able to care for him so he was given to a friend that would help find him a forever home. They didn't want him to end up in a shelter, so here he is! He is crate trained, housebroken and he's great with everyone, including kids, cats and other dogs. He LOVES to sleep in the bed with you and be up near or in your lap too. He LOVES to ride in the car! He's the sweetest little guy and he really wants a great family to love him. Please apply if you think you're that new family!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Biscuit (HF), a Harrisonburg Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in Harrisonburg, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in Harrisonburg.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Harrisonburg already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Harrisonburg breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Harrisonburg paves the way for another one to be saved.
