My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Ginger!

Ginger was left behind by her previous owners with a cat when they moved. Ginger is the sweetest dog, but it takes her a little while to warm up to people (it took a few hours for her foster mom, and a couple of days for her foster dad). She needs someone who understands that she is just adjusting to new settings and give her some space while she comes around. With this, proper introductions and training will be needed particularly around men, but she learns fast and has adapted quickly at her foster home. She follows her foster mom around everywhere and lays with her foster dad on the couch while giving him chihuahua kisses!

At 2 years old and about 9lbs, she is the perfect size for a smaller space and would love to just be your companion and sit on your lap and roll around on you for belly rubs. Ginger also loves to play with other dogs, so if you are looking for a companion for a current furbaby, she would be a great fit! Though she loves other dogs, she wouldn't mind having you all to herself, either.

While Ginger has some things to work on, such as more socialization and proper introductions to people and new things, she also has the sweetness of Chihuahuas. She is super affectionate once she knows you, giving you kisses even when you don't want them and warming up your lap on a cold winter day. She loves her walks and does really well on leash. She is also almost housetrained and is definitely crate trained.

She would be great for someone living in a smaller apartment looking for a lovebug or someone looking for a shadow who will go on nice strolls with them. She is okay with getting picked up and dressed up once she trusts you...as seen by the homemade sweater she let her foster mom put on her.

She is good with cats and dogs but will most likely do better with older kids. She is up to date on shots and is ready for a forever home!

The adoption fee is $375.

Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.
