Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Clement showed up at a Tree House feral cat colony looking for food and attention. This handsome boy with his brown tabby spots was pretty ragged, and since being rescued from the streets he has gained a lot of weight and is now very affectionate and loves to be pet and held. Because there were no better options, Clement lived in an unheated garage at the home of one of Tree House's fosters until there was space to admit him at the shelter. This sweet boy dreams of finding the right person to adopt him and give him a warm and loving home. Clement prefers people to cats, and would be best as an only cat. He was born around 2012 and tests positive for FIV.
Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) causes a weakening of the immune system in cats. It's often compared to human HIV, but FIV is not transferable to humans or other species. It is also difficult to transfer to other sterilized cats, and we believe that mixed FIV and non-FIV households can work if managed properly. If kept indoors in a stress-free environment, with regular medical care and high-quality nutrition, most FIV+ cats live long and healthy lives.
