King's Story...
The people who adopt King will have bragging rights to royalty.

The castle wasn't big enough for everyone, so King's entourage left him with us. They told us that he gets along with other dogs and is good around small children. In addition, he is house trained. Like many monarchs, he can be whiny, but it sounds cuter coming from a dog.

As is true of most royals, King can be a bit reserved with strangers, but quickly warms up once he gets to know you. While he does not wave to his subjects, he does behave well in public.

Come and meet our King. He needs a castle of his own.

Act quickly to adopt King. Pets at this Shelter may be held for only a short time.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

King, a Berkeley Basenji dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Basenji for sale in Berkeley, or seeking a Basenji dog from a breeder in Berkeley.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Berkeley already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Berkeley breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Basenji breeders who help with Basenji rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Berkeley paves the way for another one to be saved.
