Here's what the humans have to say about me:
This sweet beagle/hound mix just wants some attention! Abigail was found near our home one cold snowy day. She was a little underweight, shy (especially around guys), very tired, and when we first brought her in had whip and tape worms. This is when Sheltered Paws came to her rescue. We got her cleaned up, on a good diet, treated her whip worms / tape worms, and she was as playful as ever! She is a little shy at first, but once she warms up to you, you won’t find a sweeter dog!
Abby is beginning to learn some basic commands but could definitely use a lot more practice. She sleeps in our bedroom in her crate, and is ready in the morning to get some interaction. Abby definitely needs a lot of care and attention, and she will become moderately vocal to tell you she wants to play!
In our home, she enjoys the companionship of our permanent dogs Henry and Katie. She wants to lead, but quickly learns her place within the family. Abigail and Henry especially love play fighting first thing in the morning. Henry is much smaller, weighing in at 18 pounds, but Abby understands and plays appropriately. Abby is such a sweet dog!! The family that is fortunate to be “her family” will be very blessed indeed.
