My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Russell is a sweet 11 month old male neutered Shepherd/Chow mix puppy that came to us after

an accident that fractured his spine left him paralyzed in his back legs. His future was very

uncertain at that point, but after 6 months of physical rehabilitation, and a lot of love, care, and

donations from CARE physical rehabilitation center and Pasadena Pets Veterinary Hospital, we

are happy to report that Russell is now standing and walking on his own. He has made a

miraculous recovery, and has even regained the ability to wag his tail!

Although he may always be a little clumsy in his back legs, this sweet dog is ready to find a new

family and begin the rest of his life. He has some difficulty with stairs and long walks, so he

would do best as a primarily indoor dog. Russell will continue to improve as he regains his

endurance and muscle tone, but will likely benefit from some exercises at home and occasional

trips to CARE rehabilitation center for the next 6 months. He is very very affectionate with

people and does well with most dogs. If you or someone you know is interested in adopting

Russell or providing a stable foster home for him, please contact Christina at

cfan@pasadenapetshospital.com.
