My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

B.T. ("Gracie") is one of the most intuitive and intelligent horses that CHANGE has had the honor of helping.  She is kind and gentle, despite the atrocities that she endured.  She is a 17-year-old quarter horse mare that was brought to CHANGE over during the 2014 holidays after being found staked to the ground with a 20-foot line in the middle of a Santa Rosa, CA field in the pouring rain. She entangled herself in the rope, causing deep burns and lacerations to her hind pasterns as well as some painful musculoskeletal trauma. CHANGE provided medical treatment and TLC for her, and despite everything that she had been through, her desire to interact and trust humans still remains. She gets along well with other horses, trailers and ties like a champ and is very-well behaved in hand.  She is looking to become a permanent member of a loving family.  Due to the extreme nature of her trauma, she is no longer able to be ridden, but she is comfortable and happy being a companion to other animals and giving out love to her family!  Please give this horse a chance- one look in her eyes and you will be hooked.
