B.T. (a.k.a. 'Gracie')'s Story...

B.T. ("Gracie") is one of the most intuitive and intelligent horses that CHANGE has had the honor of helping.  She is kind and gentle, despite the atrocities that she endured.  She is a 17-year-old quarter horse mare that was brought to CHANGE over during the 2014 holidays after being found staked to the ground with a 20-foot line in the middle of a Santa Rosa, CA field in the pouring rain. She entangled herself in the rope, causing deep burns and lacerations to her hind pasterns as well as some painful musculoskeletal trauma. CHANGE provided medical treatment and TLC for her, and despite everything that she had been through, her desire to interact and trust humans still remains. She gets along well with other horses, trailers and ties like a champ and is very-well behaved in hand.  She is looking to become a permanent member of a loving family.  Due to the extreme nature of her trauma, she is no longer able to be ridden, but she is comfortable and happy being a companion to other animals and giving out love to her family!  Please give this horse a chance- one look in her eyes and you will be hooked.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

B.T. (a.k.a. 'Gracie'), a Santa R0sa Quarterhorse was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Quarterhorse for sale in Santa R0sa, or seeking a Quarterhorse from a breeder in Santa R0sa.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Santa R0sa already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Santa R0sa breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Quarterhorse breeders who help with Quarterhorse rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Santa R0sa paves the way for another one to be saved.
