My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello! My name is Skye and I am a cute little parrotlet. I am a new arrival with Florida Parrot Rescue, and boy am I happy that they found me! I came to FPR with 35 other birds after our owner passed away. FPR doesn’t have much information about me, but the vet thinks I am still young. My foster Mommy says I should be in the circus as I love to hang upside down and some mornings, when she uncovers me, that is how she finds me! I am now getting fed a healthy diet of both pellets, seeds, and other good things like fresh vegetables and some fruits. I sure look forward to the mornings when I hear my food being prepared - I wait patiently on my perch - but boy when she puts my dishes down, I do love chow time! I also love to make pretty little tweets and chirping sounds most of the day and it’s so funny when my foster Mommy tries to mimic me. She is even trying to get me to talk - I guess that is what she is doing as she keeps repeating the same words over and over!! She does keep me entertained, though, lol!! I'm not comfortable at this time getting on my foster Mommy's fingers or being held - but what can you expect from me when I had very little attention before? Give a bird a break! But my foster Mommy knows this and she is being very patient with me, it will just take some time is all! I am really hoping that someone will want to adopt me who will continue providing me with the love and patience I need to come around and really make a great family member! Maybe that will be you?
