My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ms Vickie somehow found herself in a shelter and HBHR was lucky enough to pull her. Vickie is an adorable, young beagle- mix who is about 18 months old. She weighs about 24 lbs.

Vickie is a sweet young beagle who is full of energy and love. She loves playing and wrestling with her foster brother. She absolutely loves a good game of chase and will fly around the back yard with her foster brother. She has also discovered the joy of chasing a laser light and will try her best to catch the light. Vickie may be technically grown up at a year and a half, but she has not yet figured that out. She is all puppy.

Vickie is house trained and has had no accidents. She learned to use a doggie door in seconds and loves to be able to come and go as she chooses. Vickie likes to sleep in bed with her foster parents. She snuggles close and most nights, she does not move all night. When she has new toys, she is likely to get up in the middle of the night and show off her toy squeaking skills.

Vickie loves to go on walks and gets very excited when the harnesses and leashes come out. She can be a little hesitant to walk by people making loud noises, or fences with barking dogs behind them. With a little encouragement, she will gather up enough courage to dart past. Vickie is learning to like the dog park. She love the freedom to run, the people and the dogs her size and smaller. She is intimidated by dogs bigger than she is.

Vickie is crate trained and will go in on her own for a tasty treat. She does not like it much and will bark when left and will sound off when her foster parents return home from work. Vickie would probably not work in an apartment. Vickie still has a puppy’s love of shoes. She often relocates them but usually only leaves them a little damp.

Vickie is all beagle when it come to food. She will try to convince you that she is starving when you have food, and may even try to help herself, if she gets a chance.

Vickie loves cuddle time with her foster family. She loves to have a lap to curl up in when it is TV watching time. She will cuddle awhile with her foster mo, and then will go cuddle with her foster dad. Vickie is looking for a home with an energetic family, hopefully one with another young beagle for her to play with. She may be too energetic for young children. She is a very sweet and loving beagle who keeps her foster parents entertained. She would make a great addition to any family.
