My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This dog is being fostered in Dallas, Texas and must be adopted within the Dallas, North Central Texas or Oklahoma area.

NAME: Ella
GENDER: Female (Spayed)
AGE: About 8 months to 1 year
WEIGHT: About 7 Pounds
DOGS/CATS: Great with other small dogs, Unknown with with cats
CHILDREN: Best in all adult home or with older children

Meet Ella. This little cutie is a survivor and we know you will be touched by her story. She is looking for a special family to love.

Ella was found by a dumpster by a good Samaratian in February, the night of the freezing ice storm. It appeared that she had been out there for several days and was fighting for survival. The kind person took her in, could not find her original family and asked CRT to take her into our program. We love these little ones so much and of course we said yes.

Ella is young, we estimate that she is 8 months to a year old. When we first rescued Ella off the streets, she has been shy and cautious. That is certainly understandable. But now in her foster home, she has begin to blossom as she feels safe and loved. And her personality is really beginning to shine! She is easy to fall in love with.

Ella loves to be around humans. She can be a little shy, but as soon as she knows you, then you are her best friend! Her favorite thing to do at night is to snuggle under the covers. She is becoming very comfortable with her foster family, and is excited about finding a family she can call her own.

Ella plays great with her foster siblings. She also really enjoys toys. It is fun to watch her experience the joy and she interacts around her foster home with all the activity. And we know the best is yet to some as continues to grow up with our extended CRT family (including in a forever home!). She would love to be in a forever home with a 4 legged brother or sister, but she would do well as an only dog too.

We can tell you that Ella is really smart. She is already potty trained and she has learned to use the doggy door. She enjoys going outside and sunning. In the summer, you will want to keep an eye on her because her very unique dark chocolate brown coat will get warm quickly, so you will want to monitor her time outside! Ella also is crate trained.

Because of Ella's shy personality, we believe she would fit best into an all adult home or a home with older children (for example, teenagers should be fine). This little girl will love a low key home who will love her, nuture her, and help her grow into a wonderful dog who loves life! From a dumpster to a penthouse -- let's help this little girl's dreams come true!

Ella is spayed, micro chipped, up-to-date on shots, HW negative and on heartworm prevention. She is ready to join a loving family - could that family be yours?
