DIXIE's Story...
ADOPT ME! MEET DIXIE! This sweet girl is only 1 year old and weighs about 50 pounds. She is very affectionate and lovable and would love to have that personal buddy to pal around with! Car rides, trips to the park, she enjoys it all when she's with her person.
Dixie would like a home that is not super active. She loves to play but also enjoys her "down time." DIXIE has one crazy ball drive. She loves, loves, loves to play ball! She is easy to entertain as she enjoys walks, belly rubs and just hanging out on the couch! She'd love to be someone's sidekick!
DIXIE is participating in training at "PAWS BEHIND BARS," OLDHAM COUNTY'S LUTHER LUCKETT INMATE DOG TRAINING PROGRAM, and is learning all the commands, manners and other skills she’ll need to interact politely with humans and other dogs.
DIXIE comes fully-vetted, spayed, up-to-date on vaccinations, heartworm negative and microchipped. Looking for your personal pal? Please contact Adopt Me! Bluegrass Pet Rescue at email: Adoptmebpr@aol.com or phone 502-777-1442.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

DIXIE, a LaGrange Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in LaGrange, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in LaGrange.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in LaGrange already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a LaGrange breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in LaGrange paves the way for another one to be saved.
