LOOK NO FURTHER!! Here I am, the gal of your dreams! Hi folks, my name is Miss Poppy and I am about 9-10 months old weighing in at a fit 38 lbs. My backstory?? Well, I lived with MANY other dogs, cats and kids and to say that we were all treated poorly is an extreme understatement. All of us dogs were surrendered to the pound where we were then saved by rescues who got us to their vet for evaluation. I am one of the luckier ones because I am so young and knew how to hide under a table when things got "ugly". Physically I am perfect and emotionally I have learned to trust again but am still scared to death of a newspaper,,,,,foster mom is working on that with me. She uses a newspaper in a whole different way than my previous owner!!! Foster Mom just stares at it and I like that she never wads it up and chases me with it....so things are looking better in that area. Now for the fun stuff.....I am having a BLAST playing with all my foster canine sibling (5 of them) but my favorite thing to do is snuggle up with you humans!! I know, I know I'm 38 lbs and that may sound a bit too large for a lap dog but c'mon, I have some cuddle time to make up for and I take advantage of that ANY chance I get!! I LOVE being pet, hugged, touched gently and talked to....I guess you could say I'm an attention seeker. However, once I've been exercised I have no problem curling up for some alone time as well. I have been sleeping in a crate at night (in foster mom's bedroom) and I do awesome with that but would have NO PROBLEM sleeping in bed with you either! My potty habits are great but plz keep in mind that a new home comes with new rules, schedules, and exit areas so patience is a must until we grasp each other's habits. Sometimes I'm so excited to see you humans that I have a tendency to "trickle" a lil pee because I'm so happy! But we are all thinking that once settled in that issue will work it's way out. Please keep in mind that I am still a puppy and well,,,,,those puppy tendencies will pop up. Ya know, like stealing kids toys, chewing things I shouldn't, etc... But, I take gentle correction well and will do what I can to keep you happy. I do great with sharing my food with both dogs and people and have just recently learned what doggie toys are and have no issues sharing those either. Walking on a leash is something new for me so we will have to work on that together. I enjoy car rides and curl up in the backseat once we get moving. All in all, I'm just a sweet young pup but if you look into my eyes you will see a loving soul who has as much love to give as she has to receive. I would love an active family (kids are great) who is able to supply me with play, exercise and then snuggle time!! If you think you may fit that profile, take 5 minutes and fill out the application!! love, poppy xoxoxo
