Here's what the humans have to say about me:
ROSE is a 6 year old spayed chocolate female Lab that weighs 71 pounds. Rose is a very sweet and shy girl. She has been a breeder dog her whole life, so everything is new to her. She will do best with a patient family that will give her the love and attention she deserves. Rose lived in an indoor/ outdoor kennel and kept her run clean. She is good with other dogs. Rose loves to run around with other dogs in a fenced in yard. No cat history. Rose is approved for kids ages 10+.
Update (5/20): I got to spent the afternoon with Rose. She is such a pretty girl and is very curious about the world even though she hasn't yet fully embraced it. Rose loves the companionship of her foster brother and sister and gains confidence from them. Every treat they took was a treat she thought should be tasted too...even by a stranger. Rose's curiosity is her greatest gift. I didn't expect to be greeted at the door by a shy dog but I was! Now, she didn't want me rubbing her and petting her and headed off to her safe place but boy, is her curiosity a great gift. We played a 'find it' game with Liverwurst in the backyard and she thought that was way more fun than trying to head back to her safe place. Rose is looking for a quiet home with a patient family who will let her say 'I love you' on her terms but believe me when I say that she gives a deep and loving look in the eye and she's almost ready to burst out and say 'HELLO WORLD'. When she does...watch out! You will be LOVED!!!!
Note: Rose is not approved to live in the city, apartment, townhouse setup. She needs to go to a home in a quiet neighborhood or in the suburbs!!
Update (3/31):: Rose is slowly making progress. She startles easily by noises or people approaching too fast. She needs someone with patience to show her that everything is going to be all right. Lots of TLC and patience. She's a sweet and shy girl discovering the world.
