Here's what the humans have to say about me:
SHASTA is an eight-year old long-haired tortie with beautiful gradations of brown and orange, and a fluffy tail. Just look at that imperious face !! And those gorgeous eyes !!
Shasta has had some medical problems, including nausea, persistent vomiting, lack of appetite, and inflammation described as pharyngitis and esophagitis. No definitive cause was found, even after a thorough evaluation at Tufts. However, with supportive care and some medicine, the problem gradually resolved. Shasta is now doing well on a special all-dry diet with no canned food.
She will need a calm and experienced owner who can monitor her eating habits. Possibly a quiet stress-free environment might help to prevent future flare-ups. Probably she should be an only pet, so she could reign as queen of the household. Shasta does not have a high tolerance for being handled, and she will nip when she has had enough. She is not really fond of the shelter environment, however, and might be very different in a home where she can be the center of attention. If you are willing to take on the challenge of a kitty with special needs, and give this lovely lady the home she so richly deserves, come on over and meet her !!
