My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Elsa is a Lab mix, about 4 years old who, up until her recent rescue, led a very difficult life. It is painfully apparent she had been physically abused. With her ears showing evidence of being butchered along with some very deep scars around her face, head and body it is suspected she may have been used as a "bait dog" for fighting. She has had numerous litters and when discovered on a rural highway, she had also had a close encounter with a skunk! To complicate matters further, she also tested positive for heartworm disease. In spite of all the terrible ordeals she has endured, Elsa is the sweetest, most loving dog and is finally ready to find her new forever home. She has been spayed, is current on vaccinations and has completed her treatment for heartworms. She walks well on a leash, but is a bit skittish around traffic. She does not like being confined, which is understandable given she was likely chained. With patience and lots of TLC, she'll become a loving, loyal companion. Would be best suited in a home without young children.
