My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

~adoption fee and sterilization deposit applies~
My name is Tuxedo! It is the name my foster mummy gave me after she came to pick me up from Animal Control to bring me home and to take care of me as her own until YOU could find me!

I was picked up as a stray and put into holding in a cage all by myself for 5 days while we waited for my family to find me but they never came and so a kind volunteer contacted CAA Rescue and VOILA I was picked up the next day by my foster mummy and that is where I have been since.

We estimate that my birthday is somewhere around November 1st 2014 but it is a best guess based on my growth and my teeth so I am still by all accounts very much a baby!

I do live in foster care with other dogs and have met those bigger and smaller than me – I am very dog social! A typical puppy who likes to play, play, play and then sleep!

Almost all of my business is done outside these days but I imagine that with the move to my new home away from the routine my foster mummy has set up for me might set me back… but please do not worry about this I am a smart man and learn super fast as long as you are patient and consistent
I will get it real fast! Just ask my foster mummy she will tell you everything!

I also live with cats in foster care and think that if you have friendly, dog social, non scaredy cats in your home we could probably get along just fine. See… sometimes I chase the kitties to play with them (THAT is the Border Collie in ME) and other times I could care less as they walk by or sleep close to me (that is the Labrador in ME) so if you have happy and social cats who don’t mind a ruff and tumble every now and again then GREAT but if you have one of those kitties who is nervous and likely to pee under the bed every time you reposition a pillow on the couch ………well ……….we are probably not the best matched roommates!

I am still a baby so I need ongoing and consistent training with things like walking on the leash, recall, sit, stay, etc… you know all the basics that will make me into the awesome canine citizen I was always meant to be! I have a good basic knowledge but just need someone to keep working with me. I would probably love to attend basic obedience classes with you where we can socialize with other doggies and other doggie people.

Because no one knows what my life was like before being picked up roaming the streets by Animal Control we just have really decided that I am a blank slate of puppy goodness! That whatever was is now in the past and we can all only focus on today and my future because at the end of the day that is all that matters

Currently I am showing no food or toy possession but that is because my foster mum is hyper vigilant and there is no messing around in her house! So I need a family who will continue this to be sure that these issues do not develop in the future

I am left alone for short periods of time with no destruction but I do have doggies and kitties for company so if you bring me home and it is all quite with no one to take care of a baby probably best you puppy proof in advance … why you ask? Because I am a PUPPY and that is what puppies DO!

Currently I am not a big barker but who knows how that will change and develop as I grow up

I have not been around any young children and seeing how I am a baby myself it might be best if my new family had no children or children over the age of 10 years old who can be respectful of me and help with my training … a family affair! ;)

So in a nut shell I am a pretty awesome puppy right now but who I will be when I grow up will really depend on my new family and if they spend time with me socializing me and training me and exercising me
So if you have the love and time to care for me then I have everything in my heart and soul to give to you and only you for always!
So you wanna meet me? Then what the bow-wow are you waiting for??!??
Write to CAARescue@gmail.com now and ask them for an application for adoption to meet me! It should take about 20 minutes to complete it and then once you send it in you will be introduced to My Foster Mama Extraordinaire who will tell you everything she knows about what it is like to live with me and she will make arrangements to meet you with ME!
To bring me home there will be adoption fee and a sterilization deposit fee. The adoption fee covers all my vetting: vaccinations including rabies, deworming, neuter and micro chip at Animal 911 vet in Roxboro; my new family will have to make the remaining visits paid for by CAA Rescue. The sterilization deposit will be returned after I get neutered at Animal 911. CAA Rescue is asking for this sterilization deposit to protect me and my future, to ensure I am happy, safe and healthy for all times with no making babies of my own one day. So if you have puppy training knowledge and would like to meet me in hopes of taking me home forever when I am ready to make the next big step in my life please email CAARescue@gmail.com
