My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Layla is available for adoption! I am a lead volunteer at the Orange County Shelter and saw this good, loving dog who was getting a bad deal. She had a URI and pneumonia at this point and was not feeling very well. No customers showed any interest in her since she appeared sad and lethargic, mostly due to her illness. So when her time was up, she was put on the EUTH list. She was going to be PTS the day I pulled her. After a treatment of antibiotics, her URI and pneumonia is cured and she is now spayed.
I am fostering her in my office while I look for her Forever Home. (I wanted to foster at my home, but she did not get along with my chow-mix dog.)
Layla is a sweet, loving, faithful dog. Very alert and smart. Obeys verbal commands, comes when called and is housebroken. Craves affection and gives lots of love back. She sits calmly next to you while you’re on the computer. Likes to cuddle up with you on the couch as you watch TV. Moderate energy and has a good appetite and is very trainable. She is good on a leash for the most part even in public places with lots of other people and leashed dogs. In fact, she never barks at other dogs she sees and generally fine with them - provided they do not show aggression. Acts like a big (72 lbs) puppy at times and loves to play tug-of-war with her toys. She needs to find a good Forever Home!.
