Birk's Story...
Please meet Birk, one of our sweet shoebox puppies. We first met Mia when she was being surrendered to the shelter with his siblings Mia, Clark, Merrell and Tom. It seems as though the lady who was surrendering them "found "them in shoeboxes in a park.

Bear with me as I get a little bit off subject. If he and rescue you can tend to get a tiny bit jaded, although we do our best to be glass half full folks, but this story was pretty hard to believe. Mia was found just sitting in a shoebox in a park? What?

Birk and his siblings were most definitely not just patiently waiting in boxes to be rescued. We appreciate that a person may not want to admit they are leaving their puppies at a high kill shelter, but the story has some holes. When we asked about age, health, etc, their "finder" got angry and said, "I don't have time to wait to surrender them, I'm leaving them here in the parking lot." What?! But didn't you just save them from another location in these boxes?

We gladly took the shoe box puppies, put them in our car and off we went to the vet. The vet estimated Birk's birthday to be around 2/5.

Birk's adoption fee is $475 and will include first two rounds of puppy shots, deworming, microchip, neuter surgery, health certificate and transportation from Memphis to you.

Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Cardigan Welsh Corgi for sale in Rochester, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Cardigan Welsh Corgi puppy from a breeder in Rochester.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Rochester already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Rochester breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Cardigan Welsh Corgi breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Cardigan Welsh Corgi rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Rochester paves the way for another one to be saved.
