Portobello's Story...
My name is Portobello. I am a 5 year old girl who desperately needs a home of my own! I'm very stressed at the rescue and miss having a family of my own. If you come meet me, I may be a little scared at first, but if you give me love, I'll come to trust you, and I will be loyal to you for the rest of my life! My previous family reports that I am a true lap cat that loves attention. Could you be my someone? I just want a warm lap to sit in again!

Our rescue believes that every pet should find a loving, caring home. To ensure each pet finds the best possible home, we ask that you fill out an adoption application form so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application we receive and will contact you as quickly as possible. Once you have been approved, we will ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement form. Our adoption fees help cover the cost of spay/neuter, veterinary exams, vaccinations, microchipping, and foster care. Highly requested dogs or cats help cover the vet costs incurred by some of our other rescues, enabling us to save more lives!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Portobello, a Meridian Domestic Longhair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Longhair for sale in Meridian, or seeking a Domestic Longhair cat from a breeder in Meridian.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Meridian already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Meridian breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Longhair breeders who help with Domestic Longhair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Meridian paves the way for another one to be saved.
