Wylie's Story...

Wylie is a mystery at Safe Haven. As a young kitten she suddenly appeared in our cattery. Did somebody sneak her in or did she slip through a crack? We’ll probably never know. At first, she was entirely wild. But a volunteer, who quickly honed up on how to tame feral cats, has worked to show her that humans can be her friends. Now she can be gently petted, and—music to our ears—purrs up a storm! She enjoys batting her paws at toy mice while keeping her claws sheathed. Our managers hope to find Wylie a peaceful home where her trust of people will continue to grow.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Wylie, a Las Cruces Domestic Longhair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Longhair for sale in Las Cruces, or seeking a Domestic Longhair cat from a breeder in Las Cruces.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Las Cruces already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Las Cruces breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Longhair breeders who help with Domestic Longhair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Las Cruces paves the way for another one to be saved.
