Lucky Louie's Story...
URGENT-Pound needs rescues: Please help! Pound over capacity! Go in, adopt, foster or rescue! Save a life!

UPDATE: He is CHUBBY now! Available for adoption!

This darling boy was found around 7 am, CROSSING THE BUSY ROAD at the intersection of Rts 249, 33 & 30 in New Kent Co, Lanexa. One of our volunteers spotted him, stopped, and called it in. And we thank the good Lord above for such good people! He was ridiculously covered in fleas, starving, and dehydrated. He has been de-wormed, flea/tick treated, and fed several small meals today.
UPDATE: He is gaining some much needed weight and was neutered and vaccinated thanks to many loving sponsors who all pitched in for his care!

Act quickly to adopt Lucky Louie. Pets at this Shelter may be held for only a short time.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lucky Louie, a New Kent Redbone Coonhound/Bloodhound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Redbone Coonhound/Bloodhound for sale in New Kent, or seeking a Redbone Coonhound/Bloodhound dog from a breeder in New Kent.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in New Kent already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a New Kent breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Redbone Coonhound/Bloodhound breeders who help with Redbone Coonhound/Bloodhound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in New Kent paves the way for another one to be saved.
