Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Midnight was surrendered because her owners just didn't have enough time and didn't think it was fair to the dog. She's a well mannered 5 year old Shepherd/Chow mix. Midnight knows her commands and listens well. This sweet girl lived with the owner's grandson who was only a year old. He pulled and poked at her and she tolerated it well, although it's not recommended that kids in the family do that to any dog. Midnight likes other dogs but does not like cats. She loves toys but tends to bury them in the yard when she's outside. She's a digger too and would have to be monitored when outside. She was not an escape artist. Midnight is a great co-pilot in the car and has even traveled out of state. She's house trained and will signal when she needs to go out. Please take a look at this mild mannered girl with the shiny black coat. She's really a good dog!
On May 20, 2015, Midnight was selected to be one of Friendship's Prison Dogs. She is currently undergoing training at the Grafton Correctional Institution. Prison Dogs are trained in obedience, basic commands, manners and proper leash walking. She will spend approximately 12 weeks at the prison.
If you are interested in adopting this prison dog, adoption applications will be accepted starting on Thursday, July 16, 2015. More information will be provided at that time. If you have any questions, please contact the shelter at 440-322-4321. Or email at adoptions@friendshipapl.org..
