Moose's Story...
Moose is on Medical Hold

Meet Moose our newest foster, he was surrendered because the family could no longer take care of his medical needs. This poor Newf has had problems his whole life he is 4 yrs old, his whole body is a large scab his feet are so swollen along with scabs, open cuts, yeast infection, etc, & OMgoodness his ears... We are finding that he has major food allergies. We have him on a raw beef diet with limited veggies and his skin is rapidly improving. We feel he has major problems with corn and wheat and soon to know if poultry, potatoes, etc are other culprits, it is the old take everything away and start with one ingredient and move on from there. We have only had him for a week, so we shaved him to help his skin and to just start the healing, please remember he won't always look like this he is a beautiful Newf. I am sure we will have him a while looking for the perfect family (a family that feeds raw) and really we want to have the best understanding so everyone is ready and willing to take on this big boy!!! He is a big boy about #150/160 we also need to alter him, but not until we have him well and comfortable. So keep a look out for more updates, Oh I forgot to mention he is a LOVE BUG and he loves men so he will need one in his life, he was well cared for

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Moose, a Silverthorne Newfoundland dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Newfoundland for sale in Silverthorne, or seeking a Newfoundland dog from a breeder in Silverthorne.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Silverthorne already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Silverthorne breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Newfoundland breeders who help with Newfoundland rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Silverthorne paves the way for another one to be saved.
