Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Year after year, I’d sit in the heat, cold and rain and watch as life passed me by. I wondered what I did wrong as I sat at the end of my chain. No fence to protect me from anything that might do me harm, as I prayed that I’d make it another day, here out on my own. My skin would itch from the blood thirsty insects that gnawed at me night and day. What did I do wrong? Food was an afterthought and a treat for me, when it was remembered. I prayed night and day for you to do the right thing and set me free. I did not ask to be born for my spirit to be broken, here on the end of a chain. My prayers were answered one cold November night when you did the right thing, and set me free to people that could help; that act of kindness I am most grateful for. Once I was in rescue, I was treated for heartworms, which has now added years to my life, thank you! My foster family made their home, my home and gave me a sense of belonging, being part of a family which I’ve longed for. I have adjusted wonderfully and respect my foster home. I’m laid back and independent and can be trusted inside by myself. I use the doggie door to take care of business outside; after I’m finished you’ll find me lounging on the sofa. I’m not a barker, only to let you know someone is near. I like my walks and rides in the car. I may be a little timid to strangers; however, I warm up quickly. I am loyal to my human and eager to please. I completed an 8 week obedience class at Karen’s K-9 here in Pascagoula, MS. I do well with other canines; however, I really enjoy human companionship. My name is Basil and I am 3 years old, I’m a little guy, weighing less than 20 lbs. If you are interested in being my devoted partner in life, then please visit www.foreverhome4dogsrescue.com to complete an adoption application. If you have any questions you can email foreverhome4dogs@aol.com. Remember you must submit an application to be considered. Hope to hear from you soon, Basil.
