Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Scooby is an incredibly cute ball of cottony fur that climbs into your heart (and lap) with a wiggle. He appears to be a purebred Shih Tzu..yet there could be just a bit of Poodle in there. Once Scooby gets a sudsy bath and grooming...he'll absolutely be one of the cutest guys around. At about 2 - 2.5 years old and approximately 11 lbs (will update with exact weight as soon as we receive it), Scooby acts like a sweet puppy...fun and active....but at the same time he is a well-behaved guy who is not yappy or over-the-top in any way. Scooby expresses himself with joy and love... his tail is always wagging and he's known to give kisses to his special people.
At this early point in Scooby's development, he loves everyone..be it human or canine. We want to nurture this positive vision of the world by matching Scooby to a family who expresses their devotion for him in many different ways. We'd like Scooby to attend positive reinforcement group obedience group classes to be the very best adult dog he's capable of being. Right now, Scooby presents like a blank slate who will soak up positive feedback with every effort to be the best behaved guy around. We'd also be great with Scooby being with very gentle children (8+ would be great) or with active retirees who will include Scooby in their activities. He is so portable that he can easily be a constant companion - Scooby would love nothing more than leisurely walks, trips to the store (he's a great window-shopping friend) or even a place at a pet-friendly workplace. Scooby is young enough that he can be introduced to virtually any situation...and if there is love and gentle guidance...he can succeed. Scooby's new family has to have the motivation and energy to set positive yet clear guidelines for him..teaching Scooby what is expected.
Scooby will not be neutered when he arrives in Denver -the Kansas shelter and vets didn't have an appointment available prior to his transport to CO. Farfel's will cover all costs to neuter and microchip Scooby immediately after his arrival in Colorado.
Scooby is a non-shedding guy with gorgeous apricot markings. He will therefore require periodic grooming and great nutrition to keep his coat cottony-soft and matt-free.
Scooby will arrive on transport in Boulder on 4/14/15.
