My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Riley is a 5 month old male smooth coat purebred Border Collie who was relinquished by his owners as a 4 month old pup because they were given him as a 2 month old puppy as a gift and had no idea how to deal with him.
They were right in turning him over to BCIN because they knew we would give him the proper home.
Riley is a very active, mentally and physically, puppy and needs a lot of stimulation to keep him from becoming destructive.
He is house trained, crate trained., and knows how to use a dog door. He spends all night in his crate. He also know, "sit", "stay", "down" and "shake".
After having a very active day playing with other dogs and being trained by his foster home to walk on a leash, sit, stay, goes into the kitchen, which has gates, on command, "kitchen", crates on command "crate", and is good all night in his crate from about 9 PM to 5 AM in his crate without a peep.
Riley loves to play with his buddies, will fetch a ball and loves to play tug with anything he can. He is a very active boy and will need to attend puppy classes to become more socialized with people and other dogs. He tends to bark at strangers but gets over it pretty fast under the right supervision. Riley should go to a home who is Border Collie savvy and doesn't have young children as he has not been exposed to them yet.
Riley is being fostered in San Diego County and if you are interested in adopting Riley please apply at Border Collies In Need.
Thank you for your interest in Riley!!
